Hello everyone,
Spring season starts in 2 days and we are at 7 teams. That means there are 3 time slots so teams will play late some nights. Every team has nights where they play first then sit until 3rd game. With 7 teams, teams will play each other 5 times except they will play 2 teams 4 times. It will be top 4 making playoffs, and I will run the consolation round in the first round for 5th and 6th again(sorry 7th place).
This season we will have an onsite First aid attendant every night. He will be located at the home bench in rink 2(when not reffing part time) and will be wearing a first aid vest or jacket. He will be the one you will go to for all your first aid needs and he will be the one designated by the league to offer first aid to anyone who needs it. He will also have the authority to say a player cannot keep playing if he feels the player should not continue.
No real rule changes this season, just an attempt to get all refs on the same page, which I think we have. We have a couple of new part time refs that will figure into the rotation this season, so , please, work with them their first couple of games. We have the same 3 main refs returning foe the 3rd season in a row. Aaron, Rick and Joe will be back with us for the season, with the odd night of part time refs. I want to get the part timers a night or 2 each so that i can use them as the second ref in the finals. The goal judge will be back for BOTH finals this season. It paid off this last post season on a couple of goals, so we will keep using them for the playoffs this season.
That's about it. Looking forward to this season...a couple of new teams and one more team than last season. Season is a bit condensed, but there are a couple of breaks along the way to help with the healing...see you on Wednesday.
Terry
