Vipers vs misfits
Going into this series against the 1st place Vipers, the Misfits had not won a game all season in 4 meetings and had 2 of their worst losses of the season against them. Last seasons Champions, coming off of back to back cup seasons, were in tight against the much improved and powerful Vipers.
Misfits Star Elih Bojczuk opened the scoring and added another and his linemate Jordan Hoepner added a goal and a helper. The Vipers spread their scoring around with 6 differnet players figuring in on the 3 goals they scored in regulation time. It was a back and forth game with the Misfits holding the edge for most of the game, but the Vipers pushed back to tie it 3-3 and push it to the shootout. Misfit goalie Kevin Murray who had his best game of the season, stopped all shooters in the shootout and Misfit rookie Tristan Northey popped the winner for the Misfits. Game one to the Misfits.
Game two saw the Vipers come out strong and stay strong, again they spread their scoring around with 6 different players figuring in on their 4 goals. Notably Gagan Dhillon with 2 goals and Bine Gill with 2 assists. Misifts lost team captain Terry Short to hamstring injury halfway through the game and lost 4-0. Game 2 to the Vipers.
Game 3 saw the Vipers walk all over the undermanned Misfits who took an uncharacteristic amount of penalties, seeing the m shorthanded for 15 minutes of the game. The Vipers again spread their scoring across all their lines and walked away with a 5-1 victory taking the series 2 games to one. They play for gold on Sunday May 8th at 7 PM
Kings vs Army Hogs
The 2nd place Kings, backstopped by Goalie of the season Brendan Turner and with scoring leader Sunny Cheema in the line up went into the series against the 3rd place and older Army Hogs with high hopes, but were surprised by the Hogs in what can only be called an upset.
In game one Army Hog captain Lee Mcgregor had a monster game collecting 5 of his teams 6 goals. King player Sukh Deol had a great game as well with 4 pts(2g-2a) but it wasn't enough. The Army hogs managed to keep top scorer and top D man Sunny Cheema off the score sheet in game one and take the game 6-4.
Game 2 saw the Army Hogs keep coming, getting 2 goals from Adam Lovell and a couple of helpers from Mcgregor who was playing like he was 21 again. Lal, Hencheroff and Banga added goals for the Hogs, while Randhawa, Cheema and Malhi scored for the Kings. They tried to mount a comeback but fell short and lose the series 2-0 to the Army hogs

Consolation round
Dragon Slayers vs Spartans
This series was the closest of them all with each game decided by 1 goal. These two teams are arguable the best 5th and 6th place teams in recent league history. Game one went to the Slayers a back and forth battle that ended 6-5. Notable scorers were Kenny Greencorn of the Slayers with 2 goals and Zack Voth with 2 helpers. For the Spartans, Kyle Doherty with 2 goals and Bobby Knox with a couple of helpers.
Game 2, another seesaw battle ended 7-6 in favor of the Spartans. Notable scoreres for the Dragon Slayers, D man Glen Funnell had 2 goals and an assist and forward Brad Steeves had a couple of helpers. For the Spartans Devon Vee had 3 goals and an assist, rookie Julian Santos had a goal and 2 assists and team Captain Orland lafrance had 4 helpers to help lead his team to the 7-6 vicory in game 2.
Game 3 saw scoring dry up for both sides with only Ken Enns and Sam Mills scoring for the Dragon Slayers and only Joel Dent and Bobby Knox for the Spartans. 2-2 at the end of regulation.
It seemed only fitting that this series went to the shootout in game 3. each team had scored 14 goals in the series, each of the first 2 games was only 1 goal difference. They went to the 4th round of the shootout before Dragon Slayers Forward Zack Voth scored the winner. Dragon Slayers take the series 2-1.
